Believe it or not games can help kids learn multiple techniques necessary for school, they teach competition, math skills and how to be time managing. For example playing a game like Halo can help a person be competitive but yet have fun at the same time. Some games also require a player to control their income in games like Mafia Wars, Middle Earth and a bunch of other "business" type games. Plus kids learn how to manage their time. Like some kids know at exactly what time to play and for how long, while others require frequent input from the user to complete certain tasks. No wonder why kids play so much! So playing video games helps kids learn? Heck Yeah!

The classic television show "Gunsmoke" had many stereotypes for the people who actually lived in that era. Some of those stereotypes include: the southern accent (com'on partna, let's a-get 'em), the typical cowboy hat and some people who liked to play tough.

South...you are forgiven...for now.

I believe that the idea of granting amnesty to the south after the civil war was a good idea. Not only does your opponent lend their hand but tells you all is forgiven and lets get back to making America a better place for all. So yeah granting amnesty was a good idea.

Hmmmm. Cival War or the Reconstruction...

The reconstruction helped free the slaves after the civil war, though they were free, freedom had a price.
Though "citizens" of the U.S.A black people were separated from the white folks and also, they had to work for their landowners who gave them terrible deals on which they worked on. So basically it was like if they were still slaves.

A moral from a war...

I believe that Lt. Col. Chamberlain was "right-on" on giving his motivational speech towards his men. A moral can be won through war, just like a brother and a sister will eventually get tired of fighting and just get along. Morals are hard to be respected, especially in times of war but when they are worth fighting for they give you the strength you need.

Stereotypes: Not Good

Stereotypes are very commonly tossed around in our American society. The average American can probably tell you one or two stereotypes "right of the bat", so to speak. And the question would be why? Why do most people have stereotypes laid upon them? The answer, simple. Ignorance. Ignorance may be to simple, but it is clear that if one is ignorant to anther human being due to their sex, race, religion etc, then he/she will be oblivious to who the other person is. For example, common stereotypes thrown around today, would be: black people are really athletic, Mexicans jumping the border, Germans being Nazis and a whole other load of stereotypes one can imagine. Stereotypes are basically public beliefs on certain groups of people or one particular person. Stereotypes are so widely known amongst us because of our lack of knowledge or the media portraying some stereotypical content. So in other words, use your head people!

History: Leaving out pieces of the puzzle?

People can argue of why countries leave out their "bad" times in their history books. For one, people who live in that country may be shocked or outraged that such things happened in their soil, some may be ashamed and would not like to recall those moments. With that said the governments "removes those pieces of the puzzle" to keep their people intact. So, in my opinion the government should not keep secrets from their people. For instance if I were educated all my life that our country was "guilt-free" and had no conflicts with other countries in the past then, I would visit another country, not knowing that the people there may still have hate towards my country and i would be totally confused. I would also return to my country and ask what the hell have I not been told, which could lead towards violence. So no the government should not lie towards it peoplez.

History matters?

Yes, History matters. From the old saying of the Spanish-American Philosopher George Santayana "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". History tells countless battles and struggles that men and women have dealt with in the past. With all that thrown around, people have advanced and have continued moving onward, such as in agriculture, technology, the arts, literature and just about everything. So if people would not have moved forward, this keyboard in which I'm am typing, would of probably never have been made.
